Welcome to Thimble End
From the moment you arrive, you will be charmed by the beautiful features of Thimble End. Built in the late 1700’s, with exposed beams, deep set windows and a homely welsh stone hearth, this is a part of Solva’s history perfectly presented for a holiday on the Pembrokeshire coast path.
Thimble End is a sociable, warm space. Generous, deep upholstered blue sofas and a large honey-coloured dining table create an open plan living/dining room for evenings around the hearth, while the kitchen and handy utility area lend themselves to preparing meals together. Maybe pick up some local Solva seafood and dine under the romantic outdoor pergola.
This cottage is just a stone’s throw from the Pembrokeshire coast path, which leads down to the picturesque Solva harbour. Sit by the harbour with a coffee and watch the hustle and bustle of village life go by, or wander around the shops and galleries of Lower Solva.

Located in the picture-perfect Pembrokeshire village of Solva, at Thimble End are right on hand to soak up the beautiful coastal scenery just minutes walk away from your holiday door.

Solva is a peaceful, magical harbour village with plenty to do, and perfectly placed to explore more of the St Davids Peninsula.

By day, visit the independent shops and galleries in Lower Solva, and pop into cafes like Mamgu Welshcakes for delicious food and coffees. Try your hand at crabbing from the harbour wall, or take a dip at high tide. In the evening, enjoy the gastropubs and restaurants serving beautiful food, or buy some local seafood caught that day to prepare back at your cottage.

Your four-legged friend will be made to feel very welcome here and will love exploring the coastal paths which are almost literally/virtually on your doorstep! Pull on your boots and set off in either direction on the Pembrokeshire coast path to enjoy some of the best views the peninsula has to offer. Our favourite is the walk to Pointz Castle, not least because you will be rewarded with delicious ice cream!
