Ty Canol is set within a delightful part of Pembrokeshire countryside, just minutes from the superb coastline of this very special part of Wales.

One of two converted stone cottages here at Porthiddy Farm, Ty Canol is set in a very peaceful and attractive spot to escape to. Walkers will delight at the coastal paths nearby and there is ample opportunity to explore St.Davids (15 minute drive away) with its stunning Cathedral, excellent restaurants and boutique shops, or idle days away on the beautiful beaches nearby.

Features

* Peaceful setting
* Charming and well-presented cottage
* Rural location
* Welcomes up to 2 dogs

* Abereiddy beach 10 minute walk

Upon your arrival at the cottages, one of the first things the owners recommend to do is make your way down to the beach on foot, across the neighbouring fields at Porthiddy Farm West, through the rough common in the valley and stop and take in the views of the bay. This short walk will take you past old cottages built for fishermen and workers at the old slate quarry (now the “Blue Lagoon”) and is instantly uplifting, particularly if you’ve had far to come. It is a fantastic spot to catch a spectacular sunset as you look out west from the beach.

Testimonials

This was a beautiful cottage, very spacious and pleasant. We loved that we could walk to the beach. It was great for us with the dog. They left one of the best host guidebooks I've ever come across - so many amazing local recommendations! The cottage felt remote which was nice and peaceful but you could easily drive to lots of places (Solva, St Davids etc). Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.

A fantastic break for my husband and 2 teenage boys and small dog. The home was as described and plenty big enough for all. A great break in a wonderful part of the world.

A lovely place to stay. Very comfortable and Margaret is a friendly and helpful host.
Bob & Linda, July 2023
This was the most amazing cottage. Very pretty, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Perfect location within walking distance of the beach. Despite the rain and clouds we swam every day and it was just gorgeous. Being able to walk home just in our towels was fantastic. We wouldn't have done it if we had to get in the car. Would LOVE to return. Thank you so much

St Davids Escapes was a pleasure to deal with. Ty Canol was well prepared, well equipped and very comfortable. The location is just perfect. The short walk to the beach and coastal path is a big benefit and the Blue Lagoon is not to be missed. The views from the top of the headland are stunning. It was lovely to meet the owners of the cottage, who live in the farmhouse next door, they were very welcoming.

Our stay was wonderful! Spike and Margaret (the owners) sure do know how to make anyone feel welcome. The cottage feels like a true Welsh dream - way nicer than the pictures and with such a natural charm... plus everything we could possibly need! We felt at home! There were three of us working whilst visiting, so we can guarantee a good internet connection. The surrounding area and local beach (just few minutes away) are stunning - providing great walks and an amazing sunset! We would love to come back.
