Every now and then, a member of the St Davids Escapes team finds a holiday cottage that’s particularly catching their eye at the moment. This time it’s Gayle’s turn, and she’s chosen The Nest, a haven for two tucked away in the centre of St Davids.

Hi Gayle! So, why The Nest?

I love visiting a property and imagining the stay a guest would have. That is so easy at The Nest! Everything just oozes romance and relaxation, and every detail has been thought about. It’s the best of both worlds, as it’s so central to St Davids but is tucked away on a quiet street, so feels very private.

What do you like most about it?

It’s all stunning, and if I have to choose one thing it would be the outdoor terrace. The wood-fired hot tub is the focal point, and that luxury spreads out over the whole area. The lighting, seating area, and outdoor shower all paint a picture of romantic evenings spent cosied up and gazing up at the stars with the one you love and a glass of something lovely.

What’s a must-do when staying at The Nest?

Ooh, I’d say active days and relaxed evenings are needed, so I’d head out coasteering! You can stroll down the road to TYF Adventure to book your guided adventure, then head out to see the Pembrokeshire coastline in the best way. It’ll make returning to a cosy log burner or the hot tub all the more delicious.

Sounds like you’re after an adventure-filled holiday – anything you’d do to relax in St Davids?

Oh yes, I’d go to Menevia Bathhouse & Spa! Either for some proper me-time or for one of their two-gether treatments like a massage or manicure. It’s a really peaceful space in the middle of a bustling little city, and perfect for really unwinding.

If you could drag yourself away from the hot tub, where would you eat?

There are loads of great places within easy walking distance of The Nest. To choose one that’s a bit different, I’d go to the Really Wild Emporium on the High Street. They use local, often foraged ingredients so their menu is so interesting and memorable. Their Cocktail and Canape nights are especially fantastic!

How would you spend an ideal Afternoon during a stay at The Nest?

I love a wander, I think the best way to get to know a place is simply by exploring with no exact destination in mind. There are plenty of places that you’ll stumble upon in St Davids! So that’s what I’d do – discover the city one coffee and shop at a time!
