Here at St Davids Escapes we are very used to seeing stunning cottages dotted around this peninsula. Every so often, a member of the team will find one in particular catching their eye. This time it’s Ella’s turn. Ella is our fantastic property photographer and she’s chosen Y Môr, a stunning holiday home with calming, coastal vibes.
HI Ella! SO, WHY Y Môr?
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Y Môr with Rachael to photograph it ready for launch, and it truly was a pleasure. A lot of thought has clearly gone into not just the look of the property, but the feel a guest will get from the moment they walk through the door.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT IT?
The colours throughout Y Môr really reflect the name (The Sea, in Welsh). White, blue and natural tones create a calming vibe and bright interiors that were a joy to capture. In terms of the features of the property, I really love the open plan living space where the kitchen leads to the dining area and through to the lounge area. I can envisage family evenings where there’s enough space for different things going on but then everyone is still together.
WHAT would your perfect day look like if you were staying at y môr?
I love an adrenaline rush, and also like to balance that out with some proper relaxation time. So after popping over the road for some breakfast at Pilgrims Cafe, I would head for a surf. When I’m surfing somewhere new a lesson can be really useful, as local guides know how different spots work. TYF Adventure have some great guides that really know their stuff.
After that, a refuel is definitely needed, so I’d pick up some lunch from St Davids Food and Wine, and then to Menevia Spa for some much needed pampering. Then it would be back to Y Môr for a home cooked meal and film night with the family!
That sounds like an amazing day!
Doesn’t it?? I might have to do it now!
Are there any extra features at Y Môr that caught your eye?
I run my own business, so while I love a week away I do need to check emails and sometimes do the odd bit of admin. Y Môr has a lovely desk space which got me thinking about workations and how great it is to see more holiday cottages set up to help people get the best of both worlds.
If you didn’t fancy cooking one night, where would you choose to go out for dinner?
That’s tough, there’s so many places. If it was a special occasion, I’d book in at Blas just up the road from Y Môr for some fine dining. If it was more of an evening out with family I would probably go to Grain for a vegan pizza or to St Davids Cross Hotel.
Y Môr sleeps 8 people and is a pet-free property. A 7-night stay begins at £595. Click here to find out more.
