Pembrokeshire is the place to sample all aspects of the coast. From wild swimming to boat trips and walking the coast path, there is so much to being this close to the sea. The best way to round off a day of adventures is to sit down to a meal of ocean fayre, in whatever way makes you happy. Here are some top places to try local seafood in Pembrokeshire.
MRS WILL THE FISH, SOLVA
Whether you’ve planned a big family BBQ back at your holiday cottage, or a romantic picnic on the beach for two, you’ll want to pay Mrs Will the Fish a visit. Her seafood platters are famous locally, and are absolutely delicious as well as being very Instagrammable! Find her tucked away in her own kitchen in Solva.
CÂR-Y-MÔR, ST DAVIDS
Câr-y-Môr have started the first commercial shellfish and seaweed farm in Wales, just off the St Davids Peninsula! They also run fishing boats locally, so everything you pick up from them is as local as you can get, making them the ideal choice for seafood in Pembrokeshire. Choose from crab, lobster, oysters, mussels, or their delicious Pembrokeshire Platter. You can even order online! We also recommend their seaweed goodies, including the Seaweed Granola which is simply divine.
35 MAIN STREET, SOLVA
Nestled by the harbour in Lower Solva, 35 Main Street serves up tasty, delicate specials that showcase the best of local seafood alongside their delicious fish and chips. Enjoy in the cosy dining area, out on the terrace or take away to the beach!
THE SHED FISH & CHIP BISTRO, PORTHGAIN
The Shed sits on the harbour wall in the tiny fishing village of Porthgain, and is a must-visit on a holiday to Pembrokeshire. There’s so much more than standard cod and chips! We recommend walking from Aberieddy, and eating fish and chips on the harbour wall watching the sunset. If you fancy a more sophisticated evening, their seafood menu includes some incredible, more refined dishes that you’re sure to love. For more of a deep dive into why we adore this place, head here!
