The Cambrian Inn, Solva
The Cambrian Inn in Lower Solva is wonderfully cosy for a scrumptious roast dinner, with a traditional dining room with original beams and exposed stonework. After lunch, head across the road to the Bluebell Woods, which make a lovely riverside walk even without their springtime carpet of bluebells. The Mill, St Davids
You will often hear The Mill talked about in regard to its frankly incredible breakfast offering, and that is definitely worth checking out, but they do a lovely Sunday lunch too! Their roasted meats remain locally sourced and marinated to perfection! After lunch, why not indulge in some retail therapy? The Mill shares a street with lovely independent shops like The Peepal Tree.
Crug Glas Country House, near Solva
Crug Glas is a country house tucked away just outside Solva. With rolling grounds and wooded area, it’s a lovely place to walk around before or after a Sunday lunch there. The ingredients are all sourced locally, some from the grounds of Crug Glas themselves, and so the menu changes each week depending on what is available. As well as the delicious food, highlights include the fantastic gin selection and the dessert menu, which is full of homemade delights that will see you heading back to your holiday cottage to recline and reminisce on a truly scrumptious lunch!
TAP & TÂN, TENBY
Experience a Sunday lunch with a twist at the fantastic Tap & Tân in Tenby. Here, meat is roasted over fire, and you can choose a sharing board or to have it all to yourself. Soundtracks are supplied by one of their resident DJs, and all in all makes for a fun, fiery Sunday afternoon!
THE FARMERS ARMS, MATHRY
The Farmers Arms in Mathry is a local favourite – a ‘proper’ traditional Welsh pub. Sunday is the perfect time to visit, as their roasts are fantastic. Cosy up in the bar area for a drink after your meal, and then you are perfectly located to walk it off at nearby Abermawr.
THE HATS AND BARRELS, SOLVA
New to Main Street in Solva, The Hats & Barrels is a vibrant, friendly gastropub that serves great food. Their Sunday roasts is now on the menu, and we will be hot-footing there as soon as we can! Stretch your legs with a walk on the coast path after lunch, or sit on the riverside terrace and take in the peace.
STACKPOLE INN
This is an award-winning restaurant where you will be met with an incredibly warm welcome and enjoy delicious food. They are very dog friendly, and there may be a treat and a log fire waiting for the four-legged members of your party! Stackpole Inn is set in a beautiful part of Pembrokeshire, and so if you’re travelling here from St Davids it is well worth making a day of it.
TAFARN SINC, ROSEBUSH
Head inland to Tafarn Sinc, in the heart of Preseli, the mountainous areas of Pembrokeshire with a beautifully different landscape to the St Davids Peninsula. This is a laid-back, traditional local’s pub that serves down-to-earth and delicious pub food, including a Sunday roast. Be sure to stay for pudding, especially if homemade crumble is on the menu!
