Visiting St Davids as a family is really special, there is loads to do that children, parents and grandparents alike will enjoy! If you’re visiting this year, here are some suggestions to keep the whole family entertained.
Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm
The Bug Farm is located just outside St Davids, and is a fantastic day out for all the family! Take a fascinating tour to learn all about the bugs, wander around the beautiful gardens, play in the large indoor play area and even eat bugs (non-buggy food also available!) in their fantastic restaurant, Grub Kitchen.
St Davids Escape Rooms
Test your logic skills with a family bonding activity like no other. Two types of escape await you at St Davids Escape Rooms; one a classic escape room with coastal themed puzzles that need to be solved in order to escape. The other is a unique Low Ropes Escape, an outdoor escape ‘room’ with a twist! All ages are welcome, with the low ropes course more suited to ages 4+.
Take a boat trip around Ramsey Island
The natural beauty and incredible wildlife of Ramsey Island is a must-see on a visit to St Davids. Catch a boat from St Justinians to explore around the island from the sea, or land on Ramsey for a closer look. Both are brilliant, and can be rounded off perfectly with ice cream from The Bench while you chat about the amazing things you’ve seen! There are a few different companies that run boat trips around the island, but if you want to land you’ll need to book with Thousand Islands.
MUUK Adventures
Based at Abereiddy Beach, MUUK runs activities like coasteering and kayaking in the magical surroundings of the Blue Lagoon. This stunning sheltered lagoon is the perfect place to experience the adrenaline rush of coasteering, and adults and kids alike will remember their first time plunging into the water forever!
ORIEL Y PARC
Sitting at the top of St Davids, Oriel Y Parc is home to the tourist information centre, a beautiful gallery and the fantastic cafe The Brunch House. All in all, it’s well worth a visit. During school holidays there’s a jam packed schedule of workshops and trails around St Davids, so there really is something for everyone.
