Things To Do in Pembrokeshire this October Half Term

October Half Term is just around the corner! While Pembrokeshire’s natural playground of beaches, coast path and wide-open spaces are all still on the table, here are some other fantastic things to do this year.

PEMBROKESHIRE PUMPKIN PATCH

Does anything say Autumn more than a day spent at a pumpkin patch? This is a spectacular one near Moylegrove, which is open every weekend from 11th October As well as choosing which pumpkin you’re going to carve this Halloween from their varieties (it’s not just the orange ones here!), there is a woodland play area, craft market, and a bale trail to keep the kids entertained.

FOLLY FARM

Folly Farm & Zoo itself is well worth a visit all year round, and during October, the park gets a spooky makeover, so you can get into the Halloween spirit! There’s also their fantastic barn animal pumpkin trail and scary scarecrow prize trails. Throughout Half Term their Venoms vs Poisons zoo talk will be running daily, and there are special treats for those who come to the park in fancy dress. Find all the details here.

MANOR WILDLIFE PARK

Get up close with the wildlife at Manor Park! Choose to walk through the park at your own pace and take it all in, or book an experience with a particular animal, from red pandas to rhinos!

CAREW CASTLE

As always, there is a whole host of different Halloween events over the course of October half term at Carew Castle this year, including a Pumpkin Patch Adventure, Haunted House Experience, Halloween Ghost Tour and Story Telling Experiences. Find out more and take your pick here!

CASTELL HENLLYS AT HALLOWEEN

Alongside the usual Prehistoric activities at Castell Henllys, this Iron Age Fort gets more haunted than usual from Saturday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November! The Haunted Henllys trail allows you to do some ghost hunting of your own, with prizes if you find them all. There’s also a traditional marking of Samhain on the 31st October.

ST DAVIDS ESCAPE ROOMS

For fun for the whole family with a lightly competitive twist, head to St Davids Escape Rooms. With two choices of activity, and the option to split into teams to see who is fastest, this is a few hours that the family will be talking about for a while to come!

LLYS Y FRAN

Once you’re all Halloween-ed out, Llys Y Fran Lake is a beautiful, peaceful place to relax. Take a walk or cycle around the lake, or take part in the many water activities they have there, as well as land-based fun like archery. It’s free to enter and dog-friendly.

ORIEL Y PARC

Oriel Y Parc is the tourist information centre and gallery at the top of St Davids, and is always a go to for great half term activities. Follow their Ghost Ship trail and make a spooky lantern in their workshop.

GO LLAMA TREKKING

Pembrokeshire Llama Sanctuary offers 2 – 2.5 hour walks with your very own llama as a companion. Take a guided walk through beautiful woodland, listening to waterfalls and spotting birds overhead, all at the leisurely pace of a llama. A once in a lifetime experience! Book from Thursday to Sunday, throughout October.

TAKE A GUIDED WALK AROUND THE ST DAVIDS PENINSULA

Think you know it all about this glorious corner of the world? Try walking with Steve Jones! His knowledge of the area means a guided walk is a great way to explore local wildlife and history. You’ll learn so much that you will be fact swapping for days afterwards!
