As well as the food festivals, 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting year for food in St Davids, with a range of wonderful places to eat and two new eateries opening in the city.

The Brunch House at Oriel Y Parc, St Davids – Serving up exciting brunch dishes, some with an Assyrian twist.

West Point Trading, St Davids – Relocated to Cathedral House on Cross Square and opened up a lovely cafe. Their breakfasts and cakes are especially delicious.

The Print House Cafe, Solva – A full refurb and a fresh vibe has arrived at this well loved cafe. Try a pasty or a crab baguette.

Min Y Mor Ice Cream, Solva – Just across the road from The Print House is the perfect dessert from this delightful kiosk

Drifters – From the team behind the much-loved SeaSide Shack Burgers comes Drifters, a new café bringing fresh flavours and laid-back vibes to St Davids.

Minnow, a speciality coffee shop serving expertly brewed coffee alongside locally sourced bakes and bites, from the owners of the wonderful Porthclais Kiosk will hopefully be opening January 2026

Head to the beach

Discover a new favorite beach in 2026! Whether you prefer the buzz of popular Whitesands or the quiet charm of hidden coves, Pembrokeshire’s beaches never disappoint.

Don’t miss: The iconic Whitesands Sandcastle Competition, returning August Bank Holiday Weekend. Gather your family, unleash your creativity, and compete for fabulous prizes!

Celebrate St Davids Day

On 1st March 2026, join in the celebrations honoring Wales’ patron saint. Explore historic sites for free courtesy of Cadw, enjoy parades and special menus, and soak up the spring atmosphere with daffodils blooming all around.

Head out onto the water

See Pembrokeshire’s dramatic coastline from a new perspective in 2026. Choose a wildlife tour, take a fishing trip, or simply enjoy the serenity of being out on the water.

Voyages Of Discovery– Ramsey Island Boat Trips return in March 2026

Thousand Islands Expeditions – Ramsey Island guided walk

Falcon Boats – Grassholm, Gannets and the Celtic Deep

Blue Shark Charters – Fishing trips regularly leaving from St Justinians

For land lovers, catch a lifeboat launch at St Davids Lifeboat Station—truly a sight to behold.

Meet the puffins on Skomer

Puffin season on Skomer begins around April, and usually lasts until July. During this time, a boat trip to land on Skomer is extra special as you can watch these cheeky little birds waddle about. This island is spectacular apart from the puffins too, with Manx Shearwaters, Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises, Seals, Razorbills, Gannets and more!

Head out on a bike tour

Discover Pembrokeshire’s charm at a leisurely pace on an electric bike tour. Hidden Routes, based in Newport, offers customisable tours that showcase the area’s best-kept secrets while making even the toughest climbs a breeze.

Listen to the dawn chorus

Pembrokeshire at sunrise (and sunset) is Pembrokeshire at its most stunning, in our opinion! In busy times, first light is when you’ll have the popular spots to yourself. Take the time to listen out for the unique dawn chorus here. On an early morning beach walk, you may hear the oystercatchers as their footprints make the first marks in the sand. Or take a walk around Cathedral Close to hear the whole host of birds waking up for another day in this tiny city.

Stargazing By The Sea

Pembrokeshire’s dark skies are a treasure. Take a starlit walk along Newgale Beach or the Preseli Hills. Don’t forget a thermos of hot chocolate and a blanket for the ultimate stargazing experience.

Get Active

With miles of coast path and a glistening sea, it’s no wonder Pembrokeshire has become home to some well known sporting events. Take on a challenge or enjoy a new outdoor sport. These key events should be on your radar:

Ras Dewi Sant – 28th feb 2026

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Trail & Ultra Running Festival, Dale – 5th-7th June 2026

If you’re in training and want to keep it up while you’re here, KJ Fitness offers one-to-one personal training, and visitors can also use St Davids Sports Hall, which features brand-new Matrix fitness equipment and technology.

Experience a Welsh Festival

Dive into Pembrokeshire’s vibrant culture by attending one of its many festivals. Here are just a few highlights for 2026:

Get creative

Spend a restorative St David’s Day weekend in St Davids, combining painting, coastal walking, and gentle wellbeing at St Davids Art House. Explore the landscape around St Non’s Chapel and St Davids Cathedral through guided art workshops suitable for all abilities, with time for quiet reflection along the coast. Between sessions, relax in the outdoor sauna and enjoy nourishing local food. This retreat offers a peaceful opportunity to reconnect with creativity, nature, and yourself in the spiritual heart of Wales.

Eat Local Delights

When in Wales, eat as the Welsh do, right? Definitely! There are lots of classic Welsh dishes to be sampled in this part of the world. There’s seaweed harvested from Pembrokeshire waters from Cår Y Môr, Glamorgan sausages in most of the local pubs, Welsh Rarebit and cawl at cafes. Welshcakes in particular are one of the best snacks around, and if you can’t stop craving them even when you get home, try your hand at making them with this recipe.

Try something different

Discover the captivating (and slightly questionable) history of St Davids with a Comedy Walking Tour. Blending humor with fascinating tales, this unique guided walk brings the story of Wales’ smallest city to life through witty anecdotes and a playful (sometimes less than historically accurate) take on its past. From legendary saints to local quirks, it’s an entertaining way to explore St Davids in 2026
