There are plenty of adventures to be had in and around St Davids. From coasteering and climbing to entertaining the kids with sandcastles and beach games. Holidays are as much about switching off as they are finding new experiences. Here are a few ways to find that all-important relaxation in St Davids.
Relax and unwind at Meneiva Spa
Tucked away near the centre of St Davids is Menevia Spa. This is a haven of tranquility, and as soon as you step through the doors from the tiny, bustling city outside, you will begin to relax. Menevia offers classic spa treatments using natural, organic and often Welsh products, as well as sessions in their dreamy bath house. So whether you need a massage after a day on the beach, or your nails doing for a special evening out, head to Menevia!
Booking in advance is a very good idea, as they tend to fill up even in low season.
Take a walk on the coast path
We all find peace in different ways. For some, it will be by strapping on a backpack and heading out for a day of walking the Pembrokeshire coast path. We love that too, and sometimes all we need is a slow stroll. Take the time to breathe in the sea air, watch the birds swoop and glide, and hear the waves crashing below. There is something nourishing about time spent so close to the coast, and a short walk is ideal to gain some headspace. All good walks include a treat, so check out our favourite spots for a hot chocolate to end at!
Tuck into some pizza at GRAIN
One of our favourite ways to relax and unwind is over great food with loved ones. Grain, in the heart of St Davids, is a fantastic place to do just that. Their pizza is made from the best local ingredients and features some traditional Welsh flavours to try! If beer is your thing, this is the place to be. They have a great selection of craft beer and very knowledgable staff to help you choose. Sit outside, in one of their outdoor booths or in their cosy wooden cabin. However you experience Grain, it will leave you feeling refreshed and wonderfully full!
Watch the sun go down at Whitesands
The best Pembrokeshire days end with a glorious sunset, and there’s nowhere better to watch it than over Whitesands Bay. Check out when to expect the sunset with an app such as Surfline (also great for tide times and sea conditions) and head down to Whitesands beach about half an hour before to catch all the colours and magic of the setting sun. Best done with a blanket, thermos flask and your favourite snacks!
