St Davids is a city with a little bit of everything – independent shops, restaurants and cafes serving up local dishes and fantastic coffee, the beautiful Cathedral, and more. There’s loads for visitors to enjoy, and just as much for the furrier members of the family! Here are our top 5 things to do with dogs on a holiday to St Davids.
Head to The Beach
Your four-legged friend will love exploring the sandier stretches of the St Davids Peninsula as much as you will! A small handful of beaches don’t allow dogs between May and September, but don’t let that put you off. It gives you even more reason to dodge the crowds and find lesser-known spots. Thousand Islands Boat Trip around Ramsey
Ramsey Island is a must-see on a trip to St Davids, however you choose to experience it. Dogs are welcome on Thousand Islands’ Adventure boat trip that takes you around the island, giving you an opportunity to take in its beauty as well as learning about the wildlife that thrives there. Allow your four-legged friend to take in the view and feel the wind in their ears on this exciting adventure at sea. Boats run from the old lifeboat station at St Justinians.
Walk the coast path
All dogs love nothing more than a walk, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path has 186 miles of the best walks around. Leads are a must, as there’s so much to see and sniff that even the most attentive dogs can get carried away! As well as plenty of beaches where your pooch can have a run, there are dog-friendly pubs dotted along the coast too, which make the ideal end to a long walk taking in the sea air. Pub Lunch at The Bishops, St Davids
Picture the interior of a perfect coastal country pub, and it will probably look something like The Bishops! Wooden beams, twinkling lights, and a roaring fire make winter days a dream, while nothing is better on a sunny afternoon than fish and chips in the beer garden taking in the views out over the Cathedral to the sea beyond. Either way, it’s the perfect pub for your pooch to take a snooze after a run on the beach or walk on the coast path.
Ice Cream at The Bench, St Davids
Everyone loves ice cream, right? And at The Bench in St Davids your dog can join in the fun, since their amazing, inventive flavours include a few dairy-free options created for dogs! As for you, the options seem endless and will have you going back more than once during your stay.
