Y Bwlch is ideally located for exploring all that this beautiful area has to offer – perfect for family holidays all year round, whatever the weather.
Walking into Lower Solva is a quick 10 minute walk downhill. There you’ll find the bustling harbour and sail boats. Wander along the quayside and stop for a coffee at the café, or try your hand at crabbing – Solva Harbour is one of the best crabbing spots in Pembrokeshire.
Y Bwlch is ideally situated within a 10-minute drive of 2 fantastic local beaches. Choose from Whitesands Beach just past St Davids or Newgale Beach towards Haverfordwest. Both offer wide sand beaches and clear blue waters and are great for surfing and swimming.
The Famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is just a 10-minute walk from Y Bwlch. Once on the Coast Path head off to your right to reach St Davids, stop for lunch and catch the Puffin Shuttle Bus back. Head in the other direction and you’ll arrive at Solva Harbour, carry on over to Pointz Castle and enjoy a lovely homemade ice cream from the farm.
St Davids is a 7-minute drive away and is a lovely place for a day trip; there is always something to do there. Browse the mix of interesting shops, visit the art galleries, marvel at the historic Cathedral and Bishops Palace or dine in one of the cafes or excellent restaurants. Alternatively, why not book a boat trip out to Ramsey Island and see if you can spot a seal or dolphin.
Sure to delight the whole family, there is a wonderful selection of boat trips on offer in the area to get out and see Pembrokeshire from the water. The marine life is spectacular with seals, dolphins, porpoises, whales, and a fine array of coastal birdlife all waiting to be spotted.
